Hebrews 11:3 “By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.”
The Hubble Space Telescope recently unveiled some pictures of distant galaxies colliding with each other. They’re beautiful, spectacular pictures that show galaxies of hundreds of millions of stars slowly smashing into one another. In fact, these events are so enormous and are happening at such a vast distance and involve forces of such power that it’s almost beyond our comprehension; which is why I think the Bible says we need faith when we look at creation. Despite the advancements in science, there’s still so much about the universe and even our own world that we just don’t understand; which could be rather scary. However, when you can look in the sky and see galaxies collide or birds returning for the spring and simply acknowledge that God commanded all of that into being, it doesn’t make you any less intelligent, but it will certainly make you a whole lot less anxious; and that’s definitely good news.
