Hebrews 9:27-28 “Just as man is destined to die once, and after that face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed one to take away the sins of many people…”
As if we don’t have enough to worry about, scientists are now telling us that earth may be in the line of fire of a binary star system that’s about to go supernova. If that happens, the system could send out an intense beam of focused gamma rays that would turn everyone on earth into the Incredible Hulk. Just kidding. Actually, those gamma rays could destroy up to half our ozone layer, exposing the earth to much more of the deadly space radiation it normally protects us from. While all of this is a concern, what’s more of a concern is do you know where you’re going to go when you die; whether it’s from a supernova blast of gamma radiation or from being hit by a bus? Of all the crucial decisions in life, this decision we only get one chance to get right. We can either go to our death uncertain of what happens, or we can go to our death with the secure knowledge that Christ paid the price for our sin on the cross and made the way for us to enjoy eternal life with his resurrection. Do you know people who are unsure about what happens after death? Don’t keep them in suspense. Share with them the good news. We may have hundreds of thousands of years before a supernova irradiates the earth, but someone you know may not have that many tomorrows.
