Youth ministry experts explore how to move students from doctrine to devotion. What can you do when your love for God has grown cold?

March/April 2012: TEACHING AND PREACHINGWhen your kids leave your youth group meetings, what do they take with them? How can youth ministry leaders create messages and learning experiences that stick? Technology: Does it help or distract? Which methods and approaches work? Is Socratic youth ministry (teaching through questions) the best form of learning for all students? What are the best resources about teaching and preaching? How do you go about developing a multi-year curriculum, and what are the dis/advantages?
Proposals due: 11/1/2011. Articles due 12/1/2011.May/June 2012: ISMSYouth navigate a host of philosophies and worldviews that can weaken or deform their faith. How can they be equipped to deal with atheism, pluralism, consumerism, Moral Therapeutic Deism, secularism, universalism and other principalities and powers? How have you confused isms in your teaching and ministry?
Proposals due 1/1/2012. Articles due 2/1/2012.July/August 2012: GROWING UPWhat does it mean to be an adult? When does adulthood begin? What skills, tools and attitudes do kids need in order to survive and thrive in their own futures? What rites of passage can help them along the way? How is youth ministry changing to meet changing needs and realities? How can we help parents and other adults address emerging adulthood?
Proposals due 3/1/2012. Articles due 4/1/2012.September/October 2012: LEADERSHIPWhat does it mean to be a leader? Can anyone learn to lead? How do you develop your unique spiritual leadership approach? What do kids need in a leader? How do we develop and nurture student leaders? This issue explores learning the art of delegation, student leadership and other topics related to leadership.
Proposals due 5/1/2012. Articles due 6/1/2012.November/December 2012: BROKENToday's young people face tough challenges: depression, suicide, broken homes, dysfunctional families and institutions, identity questions and concerns about their place in a chaotic, fast-paced world. In this issue, we'll explore the challenges and find out how to help kids address them. Also, how can youth workers manifest from a place of brokenness to heal themselves and others?
Proposals due: 7/1/2012. Articles due 8/1/2012.Our mission is to help adults who work with kids in these areas:
1) Theological Understanding;
2) Knowledge of Today's Kids;
3) Cultural Literacy;
4) Faith, Witness and Action; and
5) Soul Care.
