College tuition continues to climb, and it doesn’t seem as if it will be coming down any time soon. College degrees are becoming necessary for having any kind of career, but the cost is making a degree increasingly out of reach for many people. Alex Chediak in his new book, Beating the College Debt Trap, aims to educate people about making wise financial decisions about college. He sees college debt rising among graduates, many of whom never will have jobs that will enable them to repay their debts.

Chediak utilizes many real-life stories about debt and shocking statistics to supplement his advice. In each chapter, he addresses common traps that students must avoid. Most people will fall into these financial traps because they simply are not educated enough to ask the right questions. He discusses topics such as attending a two-year school versus a four-year school, how loans work, different types of student loans, how to budget, how to find a job and build your resume. Chediak uses many biblical principles and financial facts to warn people of many traps.

This book will be a great resource for high school students and their parents. Often when parents are sending their oldest children off to college, they do not understand all the financial responsibilities. This book can help people chose the best loans, be realistic about what they can afford, and help people graduate with the least amount of debt.
