As society changes faster and faster, the church finds itself often chasing culture, trying to hold relevancy in one hand and truth in the other. Dave Sterrett's Why Trust Jesus? offers both as it lays out a case for Jesus as Lord. Sterrett takes on contemporary questions—the seeming lack of evidence for a historical Jesus or the popularity of other religions, for example—as he tries to answer the title's question.

levance the church needs. His scholarship is rather narrow, and he often resorts to quoting the Bible. This would be fine, except he offers precious little support for the authority of the Bible. While Sterrett does work in various analogies and stories, the writing itself is limp. The young, nominal Christian may think the book compelling, but a mature Christian or true skeptic will be unsatisfied.
